The main attractions that draw thousands of tourists to Las Vegas are the casinos. People usually visit Vegas to gamble at its world famous casinos and most of them think that you can't do anything except gambling in this city, which will keep you pretty busy most of the time. However, you cannot remain glued to a slot machine for a long time. You will find plenty of ways to engage yourself between poker hands and gambling bouts. There are many places of historical and cultural interest that you can see whenever you can spare some time from gambling or want to spend some time with your family during your stay in the city. A visit to the Venetian should occupy the first place on your list of priorities when you are in Vegas. A visit to this place is necessary if you want to experience Venice in Las Vegas . Once there, do not forget to undertake a relaxing and romantic float down the Grand Canal in a traditional Venetian gondola. During the course of your journey, you will pass through bridges, cafes, balconies and the lively Venetian streets. There is nothing like this graceful and romantic gondola ride that reveals the charm of the Venetian in all its glory. You will also get ample opportunities to watch legendary shows in Vegas that will range from Wayne Newton to the Blue Man Group and Cirque de Soleil. If you find them somewhat expensive, then you can opt for several cheaper options that will keep you and your family entertained during your stay in Vegas. You must watch Bellagio's world-famous water fountain ballet. The fountains dan ce to the accompaniment of opera and classical music. This breathtakingly beautiful combination of water, music and light will leave you enchanted for hours. Those interested in shopping can move on to Aladdin's Desert Passage , the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace , the on-strip Fashion Show Mall, or Bellagio's shopping promenade to lay their hands on some good stuff. There are also many Sephoras on the Strip, out of which I will specially recommend the popular Buffalo Exchange . Even the official New Rock store in the U.S. Outlet malls is just a short distance away from this place. Your visit to Vegas cannot be complete without strolling down the Glitter Gulch that is located around the intersection of Fremont and Main Streets in downtown Las Vegas . This is the area glittering with thousands and millions of colorful neon tubes and light bulbs. The first neon sign was put up in this city in 1929 and since then, the number of such signs has grown steadily and continuously. Here, you can meet two of the most famous neon icons in the country-- Vegas Vic and his friend Sassy Sal. The Glitter Gulch area also boasts of some of the most famous casinos of the city, such as the Golden Nugget and the Gold Spike. Most of the strip clubs are also located in this area only. If you are bored of gambling or are having a hard time at the tables, then you must take a relaxing walk down the streets bathed in multi colored neon lights. I highly recommend it, as it will completely rejuvenate you. It is also the number-one activity in Vegas, especially at night, apart from indulging in the typical Vegas like nighttime entertainment stuff, such as gambling, drinking or watching strip shows. Besides walking down the Vegas streets at night or basking in the sun beside the hotel pool, there are a number of other activities to amuse you. Several hotels arrange their own free entertainment shows. You can enjoy the Mirage's volcano and white-tiger exhibit, Treasure Island's pirate battle, and the masquerade show at the Rio . You can see whatever you want in the shimmering water-- from a tsunami to a giant ice sculpture. You can also see a faint glimpse of some of the other great fountains of the world, such as Lake Geneva 's high-spurting arch or the light show of Chicago 's Buckingham Fountain. . Continued -->> |
