  St. Augustine
Beach Lovers - Click to Return
St. Augustine Beach is dotted with lodging to fit every budget. Many of your choices are on Route A1A (Beach Boulevard) over the Bridge of Lions, four miles south of downtown St. Augustine.

The four-mile long beach has eight access points, all located between Ocean Trace Road and Pope Road, off Route A1A. St. Johns County Pier, a popular fishing spot, is the main entrance point.

Oceanfront lodging is literally on the ocean, where swimming is excellent. The hard sand beach is narrow and cars are allowed on the beach. Nearby Anastasia State Recreation Area, on the northwest corner of the island, has one of the best beaches on the east coast of Florida.

The wide, fine-grained four-miles beach is a spectacular place for windsurfing, boardsurfing, canoeing, and kayaking. Proving that humans and wildlife can co-exist in nature, a 1,700-acre bird sanctuary is located here.
